George Arthur Adams Master Mariner, respected maritime executive, and long‑serving community leader, George Arthur Adams dedicated his life to the advancement of Canada’s shipping industry. After beginning his career at sea and earning his Master Mariner certification, George spent nearly three decades with MacMillan Bloedel and Canadian Transport Company, ultimately serving as President & CEO and Vice President Transportation.
Beyond his corporate leadership, George contributed tirelessly to the maritime community by serving on many boards, including the BC Maritime Employers’ Association, Chamber of Shipping, Pacific Pilotage Authority, Mission to Seafarers (previously the Mission to Seamen), and the International Sailors’ Society Canada, where he served from 2007-2019 (Chair 2009-2015).
George will be remembered for his integrity, strategic insight, and lifelong commitment to strengthening maritime operations in British Columbia and abroad.
